Gospel Jam: “A New Thing”- Madison Ryann Ward

“This feels like a new thing, Holy Spirit moving…With You, there’s no losing hope or my mind.

This feels like a true thing. Your love introducing me, so I can leave the past behind…”

I LOVE music, dancing, and vibing out (as you will soon see!), including Christian and gospel music. I will certainly share my favorite songs on Imperfectly B.

I have especially enjoyed finding and hearing new Christian artists lately. Right now, one of those new artists that I love is Madison Ryann Ward! Her music is a beautiful blend of R&B and gospel and her voice is so soothing. So I thought it was fitting to share one of her songs as a Gospel Jam this morning.

Her latest project, “A New Thing,” has been on repeat for the longest, and the title track is one that is very reflective of the revamp of this site.

How To Study The Bible Beyond Devotional Reading

I wanted to share a guide on studying the Bible beyond just reading devotionals. For those of y’all who don’t like to read, I’m gonna need y’all to start! BUT there is a RECAP at the bottom of this page.

I preface this by saying that there are great devotionals out there, which can really be helpful for a breakdown of smaller passages. You can certainly still read those. I still have a few great ones on my bookcase that I’ll share soon! However, in my current season, I have preferred having more historical background and context beyond just a few verses, so I can work on knowing and applying the Word correctly.

Forever Imperfect: Revamping Imperfectly B Into a Christian Website

“But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

2 Corinthians 12:9 (English Standard Version)

Hello world. For those who have followed me, glad to have you back! For those who are new, HEY! I’m Brittany Shawnté and I’m a writer/editor (read more about me here). This is a LONG post (and if you’re reading this on your phone, I especially apologize to you! RECAP is at the bottom!). But I have to explain some things. Clearly.

I’ve been away from writing on this site for A WHILE. In January 2022, I created a mission statement: to use my creativity and words to inspire and encourage others to confidently walk in the purposes that God gave them.

By the end of 2022, I realized I had fallen from that with the whole adulting/making money thing, and sought to realign myself to my purpose. In fact, that was my word for 2023: REALIGNMENT. I thought that meant focusing more on the original intent of Imperfectly B, which was to create motivating and inspiring content. However, God was slowly pulling me into aligning with sharing more about Him.

Brittany Shawnté’s Interview on Host Tammy Padilla’s “Let’s Talk About Him – The Lord!”

Y’all, with everything I have going on, I forgot to share a HUGE piece of news on the site! I recently did an interview with host Tammy Padilla of Blessed Touch LLC, who has her own online show, Let’s Talk About Him-The Lord! Now, Ms. Tammy, as I call her (I’ve known her since I was a kid in church), regularly interviews singers, pastors, entrepreneurs, and others to share encouraging words and more about their spiritual lives. I’m so glad that we were finally able to get something on the books!

On the broadcast, I spoke about how Imperfectly B got started, my Monday Motivation eBook, my truly imperfect spiritual journey, and more! The few times people have interviewed me, I’ve definitely been really nervous (especially because I’m used to doing the interviewing myself!). However, this conversation really flowed, and I was so honored to share my story.
