Brittany Shawnté is a passionate freelance writer, who has built a career in the media industry. Representing Prince George’s County, Maryland, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication (specializing in Journalism) from Loyola University Maryland, which she received in May 2012.
With writing, music, and celebrities as her biggest passions, Brittany started entertainment site, The Spotlight, in June 2009. The blog allowed her to gain writing, networking, and interviewing experience, creating her own opportunity when she couldn’t find one in the entertainment industry.
Though The Spotlight helped her land multiple opportunities and was a strong passion of hers, Brittany made the decision to end the site in March 2017. That made room for her to start inspirational website, Imperfectly B, sharing positive stories, inspirational music, and videos, as well as interviews with people doing good things to make a difference in their communities and the world!
In addition to managing Imperfectly B, Brittany also currently writes for Zenpost and Static Media. She has also written for several other online sites and magazines, including beauty and celebrity blog, Lovelyish, Celebrity VIP Lounge, Rant Lifestyle, Agape Soul TV, and Black Community Web. In her free time, Brittany loves to listen to music, work out and teach Zumba, binge-watch shows on Netflix, and spend time with family and friends.
