GODFIRMATION: God Is a Provider

Sharing this Godfirmation to kick off the week! My dad sometimes references Psalm 37:25-26 when we chat, referring to how God is truly a provider in this life. He is a generous God who provides for the righteous AND their children.

It is a reminder, especially in uncertain and dark seasons, that God takes care of His children. And it’s not just in terms of opportunity and money, either.

Wednesday Word: “Trust that God is a Good God”-Chrystal Evans Hurst

This Wednesday Word from Christian author Chrystal Evans Hurst is a reminder that we can indeed trust God with our lives, knowing that He is not trying to set us up for ultimate failure.

We also need to practice gratitude for what we have been blessed with, instead of focusing so much on what we don’t have, knowing that God has a reason for everything. We have to trust that God is indeed a good God Who knows exactly what He’s doing, even when we don’t understand.

Must Watch: “Once I Was A Beehive,” A Story of Faith and Friendship

I was randomly on Peacock a while ago and started finding different faith-based movies. One that I watched, and really liked was the 2015 indie film, “Once I Was A Beehive” starring Paris Warner, Mila Smith, and Lisa Clark. Even as a grown woman, I will watch a teen show/movie in a second!

Here’s a short synopsis:

After losing her father to cancer, a teenage girl, Lane, reluctantly joins her new stepcousin, Phoebe, at a summer camp for Latter-day Saint (Mormon) girls. (To add on more, her mother remarried someone about a year later).

Though I am a Baptist Christian and don’t subscribe to all of the beliefs of the Mormon faith, I still think that this movie has a special message about faith, fun, and friendship. Plus, as you soon will tell, I’m a sucker for cheesy, campy movies!

Here are three great takeaways from “Once I Was a Beehive” (and the trailer!).

GODFIRMATION: God Will Grant You Peace

This Godfirmation is probably one of my favorites that I need reminding of now and then. The God of all creation will grant you PEACE in the time of storms.

In the book of Philippians, the apostle Paul wrote to the church of Philippi, where Christians were not only being persecuted but also dealing with false teachers and fighting amongst each other. In Philippians 4:6-7, Paul encourages them to “not be anxious about anything,” but instead to let their requests be made known to God.” And His peace would guard their hearts and minds!

Wednesday Word: “Prayer Is To Develop Intimacy with God”-Cliffe Knechtle

Some days ago, I saw this video circulating on my Facebook timeline from Cliffe Knechtle. He is the Senior Pastor of Grace Community Church in New Canaan, CT, as well as the host and founder of the “Give Me an Answer” ministry. He alongside son Stuart Knechtle, has thought-provoking discussions with others surrounding faith and doubts.

While on a college campus (much of his engagement has been with students), Cliffe engaged with a young woman who made an interesting point: If God is all-knowing, then why do we need to pray? That’s a valid question because God does already know the things on our minds and hearts. But our prayers are more than for God to grant what we want. Ultimately, He wants to hear from and connect with US!
