Wednesday Word: Are You a Good Steward Over What God Has Given You? – Brittany Shawnté

This Wednesday Word clip is from…yours truly (Brittany Shawnté). God has been working on me a lot about being a better steward over things from my time to my body to my home. Still room for improvement, but I’m getting there!

Good stewardship is a Biblical concept, particularly in Luke 16:10. In thinking about that idea recently, I realized how unrealistic it is of us to expect for God to bless us with more when we aren’t managing what He’s blessed us with already!

Wednesday Word: “Your Fruit Will Help You Discern Bad Fruit in Others” – Jerry Flowers, Jr.

For this Wednesday Word, in one of his messages, Pastor Jerry Flowers, Jr. shared the importance of being able to discern good character (or “fruit”) in other people who are in (or are trying to enter) your life. Galatians 5:22-23 talks about the fruit of the Spirit, key attributes that should be reflected in the lives of believers. Those are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control

Some people talk a mean game of believing in God but don’t truly walk as God has called us to live, particularly with these characteristics. I struggle with some of these still myself, but there is a difference between struggling with these on occasion and not even trying to tackle them. Now before you say “Only God can judge me,” that’s a Tupac Shakur song, not the Bible. There is such a thing as righteous judgment amongst believers (John 7:24) and it’s important to have discernment over who you allow into your life.

Gospel Throwback: “Calling My Name”-Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Crusade Choir

“Lord I know, I know I don’t belong with You cuz I’ve done wrong… Oh but yet I still hear You calling my name…”

“Calling My Name” is a classic gospel song from Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Crusade Choir (LFC). This song popped up on shuffle for me a few weeks ago, and has been in my head ever since.

This Gospel Throwback reminds us that God continues to love and call after us, even when we do wrong!

Wednesday Word: “Sharing Jesus Is Not About You”- yesHEis Podcast

Wednesday Word: “Busyness Can Keep You From Time Spent With God”-Brittany Shawnté

I don’t share a lot of my own clips for Wednesday Word, but this one is an important one to share.

I posted a clip on TikTok because God has been working on me about my schedule, which is currently packed to the brim. The problem is, I’m only one person and there’s so much that can be done before you: (1) run yourself into the ground, (2) end up not giving your best because you’re spread so thin, and (3) end up cutting time spent with God. At least from my experiencee.
