This Wednesday Word is from Pastor Jerry Flowers, Jr., lead pastor at Time of Celebration Ministries Church based in Houston, Texas. He preached a sermon a little while ago on how to handle when God says, “NO” to our plans, desires, or dreams.
However, in order to hear and obey that “NO,” we have to know God’s voice in the first place. And the only way to know that is through actually knowing and being close to God in the first place.
That intimacy comes beyond just going to church or watching online. It comes from our PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS with God: from studying and knowing the Word for ourselves, being in continual prayer, and having regular devotion. The more we build those habits, the closer we get to God and have a better understanding of Who He really is. The closer we get to God, the easier it is to not only hear God’s voice but move in the direction that He’s called us to go in, even if that means letting go of our own plans for our lives.

I would actually encourage y’all to watch the whole sermon below because it definitely is a spirit changer. “The Answer is No” stems from the Biblical passage, 2 Corinthians 12:6-9, which is a part of Imperfectly B’s life passage! I watched the replay a few weeks ago and NEEDED THIS ONE. So I hope that it helps someone along their Christian journey as well.
