Godfirmation: God Is Omnipresent

God is Omnipresent Psalm 139:7-8

This Godfirmation today is an important truth about the character of God. God is omnipresent, meaning that He is everywhere all the time with us. I would be lying if I said I could explain it fully, but that’s God for you. There are some things about Him that just can’t be fully explained or understood.

This verse from Psalm 139 reminds us that we can’t escape His presence. Wherever we go, as His children, He is with us. Which is a good thing to me because there have been plenty of times when I have needed Him around….even when I didn’t realize it.

This writing from King David, who went through his share of messes throughout his reign and overall life, was another vulnerable Psalm but shows the true understanding and care of God. “You have searched me, Lord,  and you know me,” David writes at the beginning of Psalm 139. “You know when I sit and when I rise; You perceive my thoughts from afar.” David also alludes to God’s omnipresence in verses “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain,” David adds. FACTS.

When I think of where I have been, what I have done, and what God has KEPT ME FROM, I know it’s because of His grace, love, and omnipresence. I know my life today is because God was always with me, even when I didn’t truly know it or acknowledge Him. I know I’m not the only one.

And you know what else? I’m grateful that we don’t have to go to just one specific place for God to show up. When He lives within us truly, we can feel comfort that He is always present with us.
