At times, Christians are ridiculed for their faith in a “pretend” or “invisible” God. I have heard more than I want to even type at this point. With our faith, we believe that God is indeed a living God. So I wanted to share this Godfirmation today, taken from the book of Daniel.
In times of doubt or struggle, we can always turn to the Bible to be reminded that the God we serve is alive, powerful, and intimately involved in every detail of our lives.
This weekend, I watched a live broadcast of Sight & Sound’s stage play, “Daniel,” centering around the story of Daniel, his bold faith in God, and, of course, his brief stay in the lions’ den after a decree from the then-king of Babylon, King Darius. After God kept Daniel’s life in that den, King Darius boldly proclaimed that Babylon and every other part of his kingdom would worship God — the LIVING GOD who endures forever.
It’s in this story and so many others that we see that God is a present and active God. He exists and is always present, but He is also actively involved in the lives of His people. He doesn’t just sit on a throne and watch our lives from afar, hoping that things pan out the way that they should. God is truly an INVOLVED Savior that is working on our behalf…even when we can’t see it.
And this living God continuously loves and cares for us! We as believers are truly His children, embraced by His unfailing love and mercy. Which is unbelievable sometimes. The almighty powerful God who created the heavens and earth, the entire universe, still loves us on an individual level.
As we navigate our daily lives, we can rest assured that we serve a living God who is deeply involved in every aspect of our existence. He is not a distant observer but an active participant, guiding, loving, and sustaining us. We have a living God Who sees and hears us. WE MATTER TO GOD. I pray this knowledge inspires us all to seek Him more fervently, trust Him more deeply, and live in a way that honors His eternal, living presence.
