Wednesday Word: “Have a Childlike Faith in God”-Christian Coach Angel Marie

Angel Marie Entrepreneur Coach

I’ve had this video saved for a while now from Christian entrepreneur coach Angel Marie. It’s the perfect first Wednesday Word video for 2024 because it’s a reminder of the kind of faith I personally want to have. The type of faith that we all should have: that of an innocent, trusting child.

While studying Matthew 18, Angel was reminded of the importance of having a childlike faith in God. While talking with the disciples, Jesus expressed that taking on the character of a child was truly the greatest position to be in as a believer.

2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And He said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 18:2-4

Angel shared, that ideally, many children trust their parents to take care of them. They may ask a million questions, but many aren’t typically fearful or anxious that they won’t be provided for, because their parents have proven to be able to handle their needs.

“And because they’re under the authority of their parents and they naturally trust their parents to take care of certain things, what do children do?” Angel stated on social media. “They go off and they innocently enjoy life…because they have that natural trust with their parents and therefore can go on and live their life in the best way in peace because they know that their parents got it.”

I am reading Matthew now in my journey of Bible journaling, but I remember this passage clearly. Children are naturally trusting of authority, and also naturally curious, which is something I love about volunteering with kids at my church.

As an adult, I struggle with surrendering my life and dreams to God, even though He has proven Himself to me time and time again (really, it’s trusting God’s timing). So this is a personal challenge to me, especially for 2024, to develop that childlike faith again, trusting that God’s got me and won’t let me down. How about you?
