I love the word Godfirmation, and sharing these with y’all, because it’s a reminder that WE NEED HIM. It’s His power and grace that truly allows us to get through our days.
Sharing this today as a reminder to myself and to others that God qualifies those whom He has called…no matter what they may have looked like, talked like, or acted like to the outside world beforehand.
Jeremiah is a prime example of that. This “weeping prophet” was called by God at a young age as a prophet to the southern kingdom of Judah. And that man went through A LOT mentally and emotionally trying to follow God’s call. But when God called him, Jeremiah immediately went into his insecurities. “I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth,” the prophet said in Jeremiah 1:6.
God immediately shut that down. Earlier in verse four, God told Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.” Meaning before Jeremiah was even thought of on earth, God already knew everything about him, including his incoming “flaws” and STILL had a plan for his life. “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak,” God shared with Jeremiah in verse 7. With God, we can do all things! That’s powerful!
One of our Wednesday Word messages from Pastor Faith Eury Cho reminded us that God is not in the business of making us feel better about our insecurities. Instead, He reminds us that He is with us. He qualifies us Every step in His plan for us is a step in the right direction, and He will not fail us.
