Intentionality for the Rest of 2024!

“Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31

Consider this a journal entry of sorts as I spill about hitting goals with God.

It seems like you’re being very intentional in some places, but not as intentional in others,” my personal trainer gently expressed in our weekly coaching call. She wasn’t judging my choices as I honestly reflected on my wins and losses of the week, but wanted to get to the why behind my choices and how I planned to improve. I was hitting strides in my workouts, but clearly wasn’t doing as well with nutrition. It’s a pattern for me. I’m great at working out. The FOOD is why I still haven’t reached my goals. And that’s 80% of the battle in weight loss.

I realized after my call that, as far as I’ve come in my life, I still have big changes to make. Not just with my nutrition, but with other areas that I desire growth in — my career, finances, home, and also Imperfectly B. Especially Imperfectly B.

It’s more than mysterious willpower or incredible discipline that will come out of thin air just because you “will it so.” There’s not even a planner alive that going to help if you don’t commit to hitting smaller action items that will help you get to the bigger goal. And it’s going to take some intentional changes over the course of the last four months of 2024.

GODFIRMATION: God is a Healer

This Godfirmation is one that excited me today. Taken from the good book of Psalms, this one is a reminder that God is a healer

We say it all the time. Yes, God is a physical healer. He can heal those on their sickbeds (I’ve seen it personally). But He also heals so much more in us.

GODFIRMATION: God Directs Our Steps

This Godfirmation hailing from Proverbs 3:5-6  is a familiar one, but one that I think we often forget or don’t really walk in like we claim. It’s an easy passage to remember because it’s quoted often, but how many of us really trust God to direct our steps FULLY?

This Godfirmation hailing from Proverbs 3:5-6  is a familiar one, but one that I think we often forget or don’t really walk in like we claim. It’s an easy passage to remember because it’s quoted often, but how many of us really trust God to direct our steps FULLY? If we are truly going to follow  God, we have to trust Him to guide our steps in every area of our lives – career, home, love, finances, etc.

The problem is the trust part. Because it requires you to let go of what you think you know, what things look like on the outside, and what you feel is best for you. When we begin to trust God, it can mean saying yes or no to things that, from an outsider’s perspective, look incredibly dumb or risky. But we don’t move by the world’s standards. We move by God’s.

Exploring The Names of God in the Bible (Part 1)

I have been on TikTok more these days posting, but I’m slowly trying to get back into writing consistently. Y’all pray for me!

I recently posted on socials about some of the names of God that are seen in the Bible and their meanings. To me, it’s important to know these names because they are a reflection of Who God is. He’s the Almighty God Who may sit high but He looks low upon us and cares for us. And these names reflect just that.

GODFIRMATION: God is Creator

For over 10 years now, I have helped teach three and four-year-olds in a Christian education program called AWANA (think…Bible Study geared for kids, complete with games and snacks). One of our “Core Truths” about God that we teach these babies is that God is Creator.

And that may seem simple, but it’s one of the most powerful Godfirmations I could write about the nature of God!
