GODFIRMATION: God is Wise

Several verses in the Bible speak to God’s wisdom. We Christians serve a God Who is all-knowing and also knows what is best for each of us.

I highlight James 3:17 for today’s Godfirmation for this attribute of God because this verse also shows the FRUIT and MOTIVE of God’s wisdom. While human wisdom or perspective is often driven by selfish motives, God operates in selfless, loving wisdom and simply wants the best for us.

GODFIRMATION: God is a Counselor

The more I dig into studying the Bible and researching for these Godfirmations, the more I just thank God for all that He is to us as believers! This week, I had to share this particular attribute of God that I know for myself all too well — that God is a counselor that I can turn to for help in navigating this thing called life.

GODFIRMATION: God is Sovereign

When you consider the sovereignty of God, what comes to mind? This Godfirmation is a reminder that God is Lord of all creation. He can exercise and has exercised that authority as well.

This is a serious attribute of God! Because of His sovereignty, everything happens according to His plan and intention. He has all power and has the ability to create from nothing, give anything, and take away anything.

GODFIRMATION: God Hears Our Prayers

This Godfirmation today is a reminder that, despite what we may think, God truly does hear our prayers. And now I understand what a privilege it is to carry everything to Him!

Jeremiah 29:12-13 is a reminder that, despite the Israelites’ rebellion against God, He would still hear their prayers. Ultimately, God would still hear the prayers of Israel, and thousands of years later, God also hears ours.

GODFIRMATION: God Cares For You

It’s clear in the Bible, through the lives of different people and principles taught by Jesus and the apostles, that God desires to have a real relationship with us. A part of that is having honest conversations with Him about our concerns.

Thankfully, we can do that because we know that our Father in heaven cares for us. So I’m sharing this Godfirmation today taken from 1 Peter 5:7 to remind us all of that today!
