Brittany Shawnté is a passionate freelance writer, who has built a career in the media industry. Representing Prince George’s County, Maryland, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication (specializing in Journalism) from Loyola University Maryland, which she received in May 2012.
With passions for writing, music, and celebrities, Brittany got her start in writing with her own entertainment site, The Spotlight, in June 2009. The blog allowed her to gain valuable writing, networking, and interviewing experience. With God’s grace, The Spotlight helped her land multiple opportunities and was once a strong passion of hers. However, Brittany made the decision to end the site in March 2017.
That made room for her to launch an inspirational website, Imperfectly B, sharing positive stories, inspirational music, and videos, as well as interviews and stories of people doing good things to make a difference in their communities and the world. In 2023, Imperfectly B was revamped to focus on Christian content, sharing the Word of God with believers and unbelievers alike.
In addition to managing Imperfectly B, Brittany also currently writes for Static Media. She has also written for several other online sites and magazines, including beauty and celebrity blogs Lovelyish, Celebrity VIP Lounge, Rant Lifestyle, Agape Soul TV, and Black Community Web. Outside of her time with God, in her free time, Brittany loves to listen to music, work out and teach Zumba, binge-watch shows on Netflix, and spend time with family and friends.
