Another Monday, another Godfirmation for the day! This verse from Psalms is a reminder that God is omniscient (all-knowing)!
Several verses in the Bible speak to God’s omniscience, including Psalm 147:5, where we see that God’s understanding has no limit. There’s a myth that humans only use 10% of our brains, but I can’t imagine that we use them to their fullest potential. Even still, our human minds are extremely limited compared to the Creator of the universe.
And with God’s omniscience, we can certainly trust that God knows all that is happening and will happen in this world, and with us as individuals.
In Psalm 139:4, David even shares, “Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O LORD, you know it altogether.” But what I love is that, even though God already knows what’s going on with us, He still desires to hear from us directly! He knows us, but He wants US to know HIM.
I compared this to knowing news about my sisters that someone else may have told me. Even though I technically already know, I want to hear it from them because I love them and have relationships with them. Even in God’s omniscience, He still desires relationships with us on an individual level.
I see that as a MAJOR WIN. When I am confused, God isn’t. When I don’t know what’s going on, God already knows the endgame. And He’s looking out for MY BEST INTEREST like the awesome Father He is.
