Wednesday Word: “Sharing Jesus Is Not About You”- yesHEis Podcast

Tim hosting YesHEis Podcast

As we kick off a new month, I want to share a Wednesday Word clip from the yesHEis podcast! This clip reminds us that our service as believers, including our sharing of the gospel, is not about us!

One of the podcast’s hosts, Tim, mentions how, when we mature as adults, life becomes more about other people than it does about us. And the same should be in serving and sharing Jesus with others, particularly those who don’t believe. “If someone disagrees with you, that’s, like, pretty normal and probably to be expected if you’re sharing a different worldview with someone who doesn’t necessarily subscribe to what you believe,” Tim shared in the episode. We should still, unselfishly, be open to sharing our faith and be understanding of the fact that people may struggle to understand who God is.

This clip challenged me to continue to check my heart posture in sharing my faith with others and come from a sincere and loving place. I am slowly but surely studying Christian apologetics (defending the Christian faith to others). I’m not trying to have drawn-out debates with others, but I want to be able to stand on business when it comes to facts about Christianity and answer different questions from others who may be seeking true understanding. In sharing Jesus on this website, socials, and in real life, I want to come from a place of love and understanding as I work to hear the viewpoints of others and share my faith in a way that they will be receptive!
