GODFIRMATION: God is Patient

Godfirmation God is Patient 2 Peter 3:9

This Godfirmation today is a reminder that God’s timing is truly perfect, especially when it comes to our salvation. 2 Peter 3:9 is a reminder of God’s patience towards us in that regard.

People often associate the eighth and ninth verses of this chapter with God’s patience and promises in our own lives. And I believe that He is. God’s ways are not our ways, and He operates as a master strategizer knowing just what we need when we need it. But, while others may apply this verse to God’s promises for their individual lives, there is a greater purpose. This is applicable to our ETERNAL lives.

I don’t know about some of y’all, but being on this earth is exhausting sometimes. Now, I am not struggling mentally or emotionally, but there are times I’m ready to head to my real home: HEAVEN. While I enjoy my life down here, I know now that “this world is not my home” like the saints of old would say.

Though I may be a bit impatient for Heaven’s gates, God’s patience supercedes. What seems like forever to us is nothing to God. And He is patient with Jesus’ return so that all people can hear of Jesus, repent from their sins, and be saved. God is patient with others to receive and accept the truth of Jesus Christ because He doesn’t want anyone to ultimately perish. Heaven and hell are both real, and I know I want to see as many as possible in Heaven.

I am also glad, on a personal level, that He is still patient with ME because I know I can be a lot!
