This Godfirmation today is a reminder that, despite what we may think, God truly does hear our prayers. And now I understand what a privilege it is to carry everything to Him!
Jeremiah 29:12-13 is a reminder that, despite the Israelites’ rebellion against God, He would still hear their prayers. Ultimately, God would still hear the prayers of Israel, and thousands of years later, God also hears ours.
In this chapter of Jeremiah, the Israelites are heading into exile under the Babylonians. The prophet Jeremiah shares BUT as we see in Jeremiah 29:11, God still had a plan for them, like He has a plan for each of us. And when Israel decided to actually pray and seek God with their whole heart, God would hear them. And we can rest assured that He hears us!
I now understand what a privilege this is. God — Who created this entire world and universe, Who knows all my thoughts anyway — still wants to hear from ME. Still desires RELATIONSHIP WITH ME. I don’t pray to Him always because I’m in need. I share my issues because I have built up that relationship with Him where I want to go to Him about my thoughts, dreams, and desires…and simply to praise Him for Who He is.
And He hears it all! I don’t know about you, but I’m glad that I have someone I can turn to about EVERYTHING going on in my head.
