This Wednesday Word is something else from Pastor Kim Owens of Fresh Start Church in Peoria, AZ, especially at a time when there’s a good bit of inspirational preaching going on in the pulpit. The Bible is inspirational and uplifting, but it’s also a Word of correction and rebuke when needed. And we need to hear all of that.
That’s what Pastor Owens is getting at in this clip, and she didn’t hold anything back!
While sharing a message, Pastor Owens stated that she wouldn’t dare give anyone a watered-down version of the Bible just to make them feel good. “This Word is the LIVING WORD! I don’t have to tweak it. I don’t have to modernize it. I don’t have to package it all up to be cute,” she told the congregation before her. “I have to give you the uncompromised, undiluted Word of God!”
WHEW!!!! A WORD WAS SPOKEN. Listen, I’m all for praise and worship. Having examples But the Word of God stands on its own, and every believer needs to have sound Biblical doctrine in their lives, calling a spade a spade. “Sin is sin! Righteousness is righteousness!” Pastor Owens added, saying that since this is what Jesus preached, that’s what she’s going to preach.
That’s how we all should be when it comes to God’s Word, standing ten toes down on what God has spoken. Because we can’t keep being baby Christians out here. While everyone has their starting point, the key is to keep progressing and growing into who God has called us to be.
