I have to share this Wednesday Word with y’all from Pastor Faith Eury Cho because it’s so relevant to me right now. I pray someone else is encouraged to follow God from this one, even in the middle of some tough assignments.
In this clip, Pastor Faith shares the importance of always remembering God is with us even as we struggle with our own insecurities or limitations. And particularly when God has given us a specific assignment. In the midst of scary or new situations, our natural first thoughts are to look inward at what we can or can’t do. But in this video, Pastor Faith reminds us why we need to be looking up to God instead!
Using the examples of Moses, Gideon, and Jeremiah and their insecurities in serving God, Pastor Faith mentions that God doesn’t coddle our insecurities. In the Bible, He also doesn’t affirm people (nor us) like we’re all so awesome and we can handle things on our own. “Instead, what He would do is He would say, ‘I will be with you. Now GO,'” Pastor Faith added. “He would cause them to divert their attention away from themselves and fix their eyes on the presence of God.”
WHEW. Listen. I am in the middle of a pretty stressful situation right now where I need to make a major decision (more on that later). And I prayed about what to do. I’m still praying actually, because my nerves are SO bad. The first response from the Holy Spirit? “Be still and know that I am God,” a part of Psalm 46:10. Meaning calm down and trust that I (God) have been with you throughout this process and will continue to be. I have your back. Yes, God knows I am scared about this decision, but I need to look towards Him instead of looking at everything around me, including my own feelings of inadequacy.
PLEASE REMEMBER, Y’ALL:
If God has called you to do something or go somewhere, trust that He will guide you through it, no matter what.
