“Daddy used to tell me, ‘Look up at the stars It’s been a long time, but remember who you are…'”
With Beyoncégoing back on tour for her “Renaissance” album (Oh, I’m GOING), I had to share “Find Your Way Back” for today’s Inspirational Jam. Having forgotten my own gifts recently, this song hits a little closer to home for me now. I hope having this track can uplift those who may have forgotten their own gifts or purpose.
“Long live the king, you a king, you know it King already, my baby, you know it Top everything, everything, you know it King already, already, you know it Shine already, it’s time already…”
As many know, living legend Beyoncé recently dropped a compilation album to go along with her role as Nala in the 2019 Lion King live-action remake. There’s one song in particular that I had to make an Inspirational Jam because it pushes me to be great. I hope you love it as much as I do.
“Already” with Bey, Shatta Wale, and Major Lazer is probably my favorite song onThe Lion King:The Gift. So much so, that I’m working on my own routine to it for my Zumba class. This is a song that specifically speaks to Simba stepping up as king of the Pridelands after all this time of being away. He was chilling in the jungle so long with Timon and Pumbaa, he forgot who he really was. It had been time for him to rise up. When I heard this song, I immediately could relate.
Each of us is kings and queens in our own right, but, at times, we cower from doing what we need to do to get ahead. It’s often out of fear or because we’re simply too complacent or lazy. We owe it to ourselves to give all that we can to be our best in whatever field we choose. We have to step up to the plate and shine already…it’s what we’re meant to do.
