Many have heard and are mourning the murder of rapper Nipsey Hussle. I didn’t listen to a lot of Nipsey’s music but I respected his hustle, intelligence, and the things I would always hear that he was doing for his community. I had planned to share this Words Of Wisdom clip from him in a few weeks, but I want to share it today in his memory. I hope this motivates someone today.
In this clip from an interview with radio host Big Boy, Nipsey talks about how he refused to quit on his goals, no matter his emotions. He kept going because he knew that he would ultimately reach the finish line. He even named his clothing line, The Marathon Clothing, because of that mentality. He didn’t give up doing what he loved and giving his all until the very end.
What separates those who make it and those who don’t is that the victors don’t give up. No matter how tough it gets. No matter how tired and frustrated you are. It really is a marathon. You have to pace yourself. Take short breaks when needed and continue the race. You may not reach the goal for a while, but you’ll definitely lose if you quit.
Watch Nipsey’s words of wisdom below. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family. RIP.
Love these Words of Wisdom from one of my favorite comedians, KevOnStage. Definitely a message that I needed to hear this week. I hope it inspires you to continue to work on your life vision, no matter who has the same one.
In the clip, Kev calls himself going off on his Instagram followers, pushing them to work on their goals even if other people are doing the same thing. I know I have sometimes gotten discouraged or didn’t want to do something because I see other people doing it. But so what? We really can all eat!
“Stop counting yourself out of the game before you even get started because everybody doing something!” Kev exclaimed. There are plenty of bloggers, comedians, entrepreneurs, artists, etc., etc., but none of them are you. None of them have your exact experiences and creativity. We all have something to offer, so why count yourself out? Give yourself a chance!
This Words of Wisdom video featuring audio from a sermon by Bishop T.D. Jakes is one that will get your life together for sure. I know it pushed me to get some things in order. I hope it motivates you today and beyond.
Entrepreneurs, influencers, artists, freelancers, and others alike—we ask for people to support us. We want people to retweet, like, share and buy our content and work on a regular basis. But, if we’re honest, sometimes we don’t put that same energy into doing our own work. That’s what this video is about.
Bishop Jakes said it so eloquently: “Do you have anything that you’re dreaming that you’re willing to be committed to enough to see it happen or are you throwing pennies in the wishing well of life wanting to receive on credit something that you’re not willing to pay for?” We want the success but it takes A LOT to get there. I’m not some mega blogger or influencer right now, but even with the successes I’ve had, it’s taken a lot of work, tears, focus and perseverance. It takes investing in yourself on a regular basis. Even when you don’t feel like it. Even in the midst of doubts and frustration.
I’ve been getting more into Trent Shelton’s videos over the past few years. He always delivers great Words of Wisdom when it comes to life and love. I definitely had to share this one with you guys.
In the video, Trent admits that in order to get ahead, there are some things you must be willing to give up or leave behind. That means letting go of bad habits, the wrong opportunities, and even people who are holding you back. It also means pushing through and rising above struggles and frustrations. It’s all a part of the process of getting to where you want to be and you can’t skip any of it.
These Words of Wisdom from John Cena may seem a little cliche, but I definitely think they can help somebody. They’re helpful to me for sure.
In this short clip, the wrestling star stands in the ring and imparts some wise words. Clearly coming back from a setback, John encourages them to never give up. It’s easy to say but harder to live.
Failure is painful. Rejection is painful. Setbacks are painful. Especially when you experience them over and over and over again after you tried so hard at something. However, picking yourself up, dusting yourself off, and moving forward is all a part of the process. Even when you experience victories, failures are still inevitable in those wins. It’s how you bounce back that matters. “I’ve often said a man’s character is not judged after he celebrates a victory but by what he does when his back is against the wall,” John shares in the video.
