Kicking off another week with some #MondayMotivation!

I love this quote from the late country singer and businessman Jimmy Dean (yes of Jimmy Dean Sausages!), and it’s so true. The storms of life are inevitable; you’ll be hit with hard times and setbacks, often times when you least expect it. And it can be tough. Super tough.

You may not be able to change what’s going on around you, but you can change a few things about yourself. One, you can change how you react to them. You can choose to be better, not bitter, and try your best to maintain your joy and positive attitude in the midst of a storm. It’s not easy, but it can be done. You can also change how you work through them. You can change up your work process, or how much time you commit to a project or outside activities.

Life is all about constant adjustment to obstacles. Don’t get so caught up in the bad that comes your way as you work towards your goals. Adjust your attitude about it and your actions, and keep working on your dreams!

This #MondayMotivation quote was definitely one for me at the place in my life right now.

We really can’t always change our circumstances or the places that we find ourselves, but yes, we can change ourselves. We can change our way of thinking about the situation, challenging ourselves to remain positive and optimistic in spite of what’s going on around us. We can push ourselves to do more than we think we are doing on the journey towards reaching our dreams. We can start to be more conscious of what we are contributing to any situation in our lives, good or bad.

For me, I sometimes feel stuck in a place I’m truly not meant to be, but I had to be honest with myself about what I was doing (and wasn’t doing) to reach better heights. I had to be honest about my own negativity that was holding me back. When I began changing my mindset and my work, different issues in my life began changing for the better. Just something to think about as we kick off this week!

Ooh buddy, if I could tell you just how much I’ve cried and screamed over the years in trying to get to where I want to be in life. It can be very frustrating, sometimes. Not seeing good results from all of the hard work that you’ve put in sometimes is discouraging, and makes you want to give up.

As much as I want to quit on my gift and goals and settle into a mundane life, I can’t. I literally can never find the will to just give up on my dreams for my life, no matter what happens. Some days, I’ll admit that I get extremely frustrated, cry, get into emotional eating, or find myself in this numbness watching Netflix on my couch (which is why I had to find healthier ways to de-stress). However, I’ll never quit. My passion for what I do is much too great.

It’s okay to feel disappointed and hurt in this journey towards your goals, because things definitely do not always happen like you think they will. However, it’s not okay to give up on your dreams and gifts just because it isn’t always easy. I hope this #MondayMotivation quote encourages you this week and beyond to keep going in spite of what does or doesn’t happen for you. Everything will fall into place at the right time, but you’ll only see it happen if you don’t give up!

I love this quote from writer Lowell Thomas, so I wanted to share it with you all for some #MondayMotivation this week.

So often, we feel that we are unable to get things done because of our busy schedules or whatever else. We feel that we don’t have the energy to push a little harder or give a little more towards our goals, especially when we have all of this other stuff going on. Trust me, I feel you. There are so many days when I truly am drained, and don’t seem to have any energy to get writing done or work on other projects.

However, I’ve been challenging myself to do a little more each day than what I think I can do or what I feel like I have the energy to do. And I surprise myself with how much more I get done when I push myself just a little harder.

This quote truly rings true for me, and I hope that it pushes you to do a little more than you think you can do, and go a little harder than you think you can go. Watch what all you’re able to accomplish!

Today’s #MondayMotivation quote is from 1984 Olympic gymnastics champion Mary Lou Retton.

I believe that all of us have a gift. Some of us may know what it is, and are steadily working on it. Some of us may not have found it or fully tapped into it yet. However, that should be a major life goal: to find out what our true gifts are and to make good use of them. What is it that you are truly good at and have a passion for? What is it that brings you joy and peace?

When you find that gift that truly sets your heart on fire, it’s your responsibility to keep that fire lit. It’s not always easy to do, but you owe it to yourself to continuously nurture that gift. You owe it to yourself to work on it, and then use it to make a positive impact. Keep that in mind as we head into this new week!
