Sharing this #MondayMotivation quote to encourage someone as I encourage myself this week and beyond. Don’t let your own doubts get in the way of you reaching your goals and ultimate potential.
I truly believe that we can be our own worst enemies and definitely our own worst critics. Our doubts, fears, and insecurities get in the way of us working towards the purposes we were created for. I know that for myself. I’ve held back on my own gifts and ideas for the longest because I was afraid of failure or looking dumb.
So how do you learn to block that out? For me, I pray and do a lot of self-reflection. It reminds me of past wins, the creativity and gifts I’ve been blessed with, and my passion. I recite affirmations to I also take time for other hobbies that allow me some time to decompress and tap into creativity and inspiration. If I’m really having a hard time blocking out my doubts, I’ll quietly step away from social media, which can be the land of comparison.
Another major way I’ve worked through fears is by embracing failure as a part of the game. People are so afraid to lose that they don’t MOVE. Instead of being paralyzed by the fear of failing or losing, I’ve learned that, if it happens, it can be a learning opportunity and an avenue for growth. It even fuels me to keep going harder. Maybe it’s because I’ve lost A LOT in my short 31 years of life. I’ve recognized that it doesn’t have to stop anything. Once you realize that, you begin to step out with a little more courage.
