As we kick off another Monday, here’s a #MondayMotivation quote from author Erica Jong. I’ve heard a few variations of this quote before, but just wanted to share it for someone who may need to read it today.
I’ve said it before that it’s natural to be nervous about working towards new goals and opportunities and even letting new people in your life. However, we shouldn’t let our fears hold us back from trying. Sometimes, our fears can overtake us and we don’t take the risks we need to move forward in life. It can seem even more natural to avoid taking those risks to avoid embarrassment, rejection, and whatever else.
However, if you risk nothing out of fear of new things, failure, or rejection, then you ultimately end up risking even more. You risk moving ahead in life, whether it be in your professional or personal life. You risk being stagnant. I personally don’t want to take THAT risk. Do you?
As I challenge myself on this, I challenge you too. If there is something you have been wanting to try or something you should open your heart up to, begin to start tackling the emotions behind your fear. Talk positively about yourself, your character, and your abilities, and start taking small steps towards that thing you’ve wanted to achieve.
