This simple #MondayMotivation quote is for me and my fellow procrastinators and those who have lost their discipline and follow through. It happens to the best of us.

Literally yesterday, I made a pact with myself to get some things done throughout this week, starting bright and early the next day. Then the next day came and YALLLLLL….I was honestly like “Screw this. I’m going back to bed.”

But how many times had I done that? How many times, especially in recent years, had I not follow through?

Granted, I could say I have reasons for it. We all have stuff going on and we do our best (or claim to anyway). Giving yourself grace is important, especially in the midst of a panorama-lama, but giving yourself grace and giving yourself excuses are not the same thing.

I really wonder sometimes what would happen if I stuck to what I said I was going to do. Like REALLY sat down and made some realistic goals and action items and stuck with it. No matter how hard it was. So that’s what I’m trying to do. I got up and start knocking some things off my to-do list. And the next day, I’ll work towards doing it again.

Commitment really is doing what you said you were going to do after the mood you said it in has left you.

Yesterday, you said tomorrow. Tomorrow’s today. Time to get to it.
