We all have some insecurities but this #MondayMotivation quote from author and speaker Tim Fargo pushes us to work through them in order to open the door to new possibilities in our lives.
The quote acknowledges that our insecurities play a role in us being able to explore the doors open to us. I know this all too well. Because I didn’t think I was smart enough or talented enough, I’ve played it small at multiple times in my life and didn’t go after different opportunities because I didn’t feel worthy. I didn’t express my feelings to people out of fear of rejection or conflict.
Now, I’ve worked through a lot of them (cried, prayed, wrote, meditated, talked through them). At times, they raise their ugly heads but I squash them down with positive affirmations about myself all of the time. Small things like, “I got this. I am smart. I am talented. I am worthy.” Because I AM.
I’ve realized that life is too short to downplay who you are and what you bring to the table. It’s too short to leave things unsaid and I don’t want my own negative thinking about myself to play a part in all of this. If something doesn’t work out for me, I don’t want it to be simply because I couldn’t see my own worth.
Your insecurities can play a huge part in your career, your relationships, your side hustles, etc. I challenge you to work through those with positive affirmation, therapy, journaling, etc. Whatever works for you to be the best you that you can be. I’m here rooting for us!
