On “My Power,” CHIKA tells listeners that her words and pen are her power and she’s continuing to work with that. Each of us brings something different to the table, but standing in that gift is what gives us all power. That’s not to say that we won’t get tired or frustrated along the way, especially if we’re working towards a goal. However, that’s when we have to decide to push through. “Somewhere on the journey, we all bound to get tired. When life get lower, we get higher,” she rhymes on the song.
The song is featured on the soundtrack for Netflix’s original film, Project Power, starring Jamie Foxx, Dominique Fishback, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. CHIKA also made an appearance in the film and wrote the raps for Dominique’s character.
