I really appreciate these Words of Wisdom from the late, great Kobe Bryant (man, that still feels weird and heartbreaking to say).
As we all know, Kobe was a champion dedicated to hard work to get to where he wanted to be. In this clip, he admitted that his focus was on getting rings in his younger years as a baller. His passion, ambition, and work ethic were so admirable. However, as he got older, he realized that his impact on other players mattered much more. Inspiring others became more of his focus.
I’ve said before just how easy it is for me to get caught up in the numbers game with running this website. The number of readers and subscribers. People who follow on social media. The amount of money that comes in from my t-shirts. All of that. I want to win financially, sure. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t. But what matters most to me (and what I never want to forget) is impacting people with my words and helping other people grow through my own experiences and mistakes. The older I get, the more that is my focus.
How are you impacting people with your work?
Watch Kobe’s Words of Wisdom below. Continue to rest in peace, legend.
