I’m not even the biggest fan of country music but Nashville was my show and this was my SONG! I thought that “It Ain’t Yours To Throw Away,” sung by Sam Palladio on the show, would be a great Inspirational Jam to kick off a new month.
As sung on the song, you can and probably will grow weary of the work that you do, no matter how much you love it. It can feel like you’ll never “make it” to where you want to be, even though you’ve been putting in all of this work. However, this song is a reminder that your gift, whatever it may be, is bigger than you and your desires.
I play this song as a reminder to me that my gifts and talents are truly not my own. While I have been financially successful with my work (and I want to continue to do so!), it’s more about impact. On the days when I want to quit, and there are plenty, I keep going for those who support me and those who have been positively impacted by what I do. This song helps keep me on track with that.
