Words of Wisdom: “Don’t Let Opinions Influence How You Think About Yourself”-Jennifer Lopez

It’s hard to work towards your goals but it’s even harder when you have negative people telling you what you can’t do. That venom can take even the strongest person down. Hopefully, these Words of Wisdom from Jennifer Lopez will keep you pushing through.

If there’s anyone who knows about haters, it’s Jennifer. I remember being young and watching her blow up and seeing negativity in tabloids or hearing it on TV or the radio (before social media was a thing). They talked her curves, her acting, her singing, all of that, which she admitted in this clip was hurtful and damaging in the beginning stages of her career. However, now that she’s older, she’s developed more confidence in herself and in her skills. Jennifer doesn’t let the opinions of others interfere with how she feels about herself.

I’ve been there. I used to let so many people get in my ear and believed the negativity that they thought about me. Over time, I realized that, a lot of times, that has to do with them more than it has to do with me. There’s already enough that I have to work through to get to my dreams. I can’t let other people who don’t see the vision get in my way.

It takes time to build up that confidence where other people’s words and opinions don’t distract you from who you want to be and are becoming. Just have faith that you are on the right path and try to tune them out. You can do this!

  1. Thank you so much for sharing. I have learned to block certain conversations and people from my eargate. No negativity–only the things that will propel me to move forward toward destiny.
