Today’s Inspirational Jam is one of my favorites! Kirk Franklin‘s “Smile” is such an incredibly encouraging song to listen to, especially when I’m feeling kind of down.
In these crazy times, Kirk recently recorded a virtual video for the song with artists like Kelly Price, Fantasia, Jonathan McReynolds, and more. I’ve heard this song so many times but seeing this video put not only a smile on my face, but also brought a few tears to my eyes!
Life definitely can serve you some major blows, especially when you least expect it. I know all too well that it’s hard to be positive or not give up when you’re going through it. I’m a firm believer that you should feel whatever you want to feel in the moment (anger, sadness, resentment, etc.), but it’s very important to not stay there.
I personally look to my faith in God for hope and answers when I’m struggling, but, wherever you turn to, remember to keep your head up and smile throughout. The rain won’t last forever, so keep your joy even in the midst of it, and know that life will get better! I hope this song encourages you today.
