#MondayMotivation

Hoping that this #MondayMotivation quote from author Garth Henrichs gets you up and moving today and beyond.

When I first started writing for other people, I’d call myself promoting my writing and editing services on social media with a simple tweet or Instagram post. I knew what I had to offer and just knew that other people would see it too if they reached out to me. How wrong and naive was I?

Needless to say, my writing jobs were slim to none in the beginning. Nobody was just running to me because I thought I was good. I had to put in the work and prove myself. I had to actually put myself out there instead of waiting for opportunities to come to me. I had to pitch myself and my work so that people would hire me. That’s the way it really goes.

No matter how good you are (or how good you think you are), for a lot of us, opportunities aren’t just going to fall in our laps. If you want something bad enough, you have to be committed to working for it. You have to be consistent and persevere even when everything looks unattainable. Trust me, I know. It’ll be worth it in the end, though.
