This #MondayMotivation quote from writer Robin Sharma is one that I try to focus on as I go through this life. I hope it inspires you too.
Many people look at their success in a materialistic way. It’s about how much money you make, the cars you drive, where you live, where you can afford to go. I used to be that way too. I worried more about what I could make from any job instead of valuing and growing at my craft.
In order to truly be successful, you have to value what it is that you do and focus on what you can bring to the table. I try now to bring my all to everything I do regardless of what I’m getting paid for simply because I love it and want to continuously get better. I don’t make a lot of money off of this site (yet). However, when I began to focus more on honing my craft and working on the value I could give, more doors began to open. I’m constantly growing as a writer and that’s what I’m most proud of in my career. I’m proud that my words now serve as encouragement for others, that I now have a reputation for being a strong writer and also an uplifting person.
Reputation. Craft. Value. That’s where your measure of success should be. Not how much money you have in the bank.
Thanks for the encouragement and your wise words Brit! Love you!
