This is a simple but powerful quote from the late, great Lucille Ball. I thought it might serve as a great #MondayMotivation quote today, especially coming back from the Thanksgiving holiday.
Have any of you often worried that you couldn’t do something? That you weren’t skilled enough or smart enough? I know I have. But I’ve found that attempting to do something can turn into the ability of actually being able to do it. I didn’t think that I could be a freelance writer…until I began writing and interviewing and pitching stories and applying for jobs. Sure, there were plenty of mistakes made along the way, but I learned. I grew. But it was only by taking action. Not thinking about taking action, or planning action, but getting to work and trying new things. It was shooting my shot at my dream.
My dad always told me “Nothing beats a failure but a try.” Even if you feel you’re not completely equipped to do something, try it out anyway. The more you work at it, the more you’ll be able to actually do and accomplish.
