This #MondayMotivation quote really helped change my way of thinking and I hope it helps y’all too!
In recent years, I was in a rut. I wasn’t where I wanted to be in life. Certain people and circumstances I had to deal with on a regular basis were taking a toll on me. I’m borderline a control freak, and I’ve felt like my life was completely out of my control. It didn’t just scare me. It straight pissed me off at times.
But another huge lesson I finally learned this year is that I might not be able to control what’s going on around me. But I CAN control how I react to it. It might seem simple enough, but, once I finally mastered that concept, life became better. Not necessarily easier, but I had more peace and joy.
Mastering your thoughts is one of the hardest but most liberating things you can do. You can’t always control what happens to you, but, once you learn how to better control your thoughts and reactions, you’re much more level-headed. And you’ll be surprised how thinking more positively will change your actions and ultimately your results!
I totally agree Britt. I had to learn to let somethings go especially when it start to hinder my progress. When things are not in our control we must to leave them alone– God will smooth out all things. Trying to be in control becomes a distraction and a mood snatcher. I had to learn to think more positively and give it all to God. Now, I have unspeakable peace even in chaos. I am determine to be happy. Thanks for sharing and being transparent.
