I hope today that this #MondayMotivation quote from research professor and public speaker Brené Brown gives you encouragement when it comes to your life story.
I can’t speak for other inspirational writers and speakers out there, but one of the most important parts of my developing content for this site is authenticity. It’s hard sometimes to share vulnerable parts of my life, but I feel like it all wouldn’t be real if I didn’t share the good, bad, and ugly with you guys. I’ve had a lot of wins, but I’ve also had a lot of losses. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve failed. I’ve dealt with walking depression, anger, and anxiety. Owning ALL of my story not only takes a lot of courage, but there’s also a sense of freedom in it, I guess. I don’t worry about what other people may think or say. I know that every part of my journey has helped to shape me into who I am today. I focus on sharing with the intent of inspiring and uplifting someone who may be going through some of the same things I did.
In the same way that I own my life story, I challenge each of you to do the same! None of our stories come wrapped up in a cute box with a pretty ribbon on top. They’re a little banged up, some more than others. But being comfortable in where you’ve come from, what you’ve done, and what you’ve learned? That takes guts and it’s liberating! Don’t be ashamed of it. Stand tall in it. Plus, you never know who is watching or inspired by YOU.
