Well, this quote from French writer Alexandre Dumas put things into perspective for me! I hope you get something out of this #MondayMotivation quote.
I definitely struggle with self-doubt often. Do you? It’s definitely something we all have probably dealt with at least one point in time. And for good reason. We doubt our abilities and if we’ll be able to succeed. We may believe that we’re not good enough, and that draws us back from going after new opportunities. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve turned away from things because I was afraid I wasn’t talented or good enough.
Can you imagine soldiers going into battle and joining up on the side of their enemies? Unheard of and downright crazy. It would be literally self-sabotage. Well, that’s what happens when we let that doubt creep in and keep us from doing what we’re meant to do. It’s self-sabotage. We’re not only holding ourselves back, but we’re potentially keeping others from growth because we’re too afraid to share our gifts with others. I know I have a good amount of work to do in this area, and I attempt to tell myself that ultimately nothing beats a failure but a try. I attempt to walk tall and confident in events and pitching for new projects. Sort of like a “fake it ‘til I make it” mentality a lot of days, but it’s working for me.
