Kesha brought the house to tears at the 2018 Grammys after delivering a moving performance of her latest single, “Praying,” in honor of the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements.
Janelle Monae first gave an incredible intro about the importance of equality, referencing Time’s Up. “We come in peace, but we mean business,” the singer said in her speech. “And to those who would dare try to silence us, we offer you two words: Time’s up.”
Kesha then hit the stage with her stirring performance, bringing along other female artists including Cyndi Lauper, Camila Cabello, Bebe Rexha, Julia Michaels, Andra Day and others. The ladies, dressed in all white, moved the crowd, and, afterwards, embraced each other in an emotional hug.
Watch the powerful performance below!
Kesha, in the past few years, has brought up claims of sexual harassment and abuse against her former producer, DJ Luke. All of her claims were, sadly, later dismissed by a judge in court, but she is using her music to continue to speak out.
“after everything you've done I can thank you for how strong I have become”
