Words of Wisdom: “Trust Your Gut Instinct” -Lucy Hale

Lucy Hale‘s rise to fame definitely came with her starring role on Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars, but she recently opened up about how she almost didn’t take it on!

In this Words of Wisdom video, Lucy revealed that she was up for PLL and also another project, but trusted her instinct and went with what she believed was the most interesting project—Pretty Little Liars! “People can help you to make a decision, but, at the end of the day, you’re left with yourself,” the actress stated. “And I think that that inner voice that you have is the most important.” I bet fans of the show couldn’t even imagine anyone else as Aria Montgomery…I know I can’t. But it was Lucy’s gut that told her that PLL was the show for her.

Check out her short interview below…

It’s easy to get distracted by outside voices or circumstances. Maybe everyone around you is telling you to go one way, but your gut is telling you to go another. Maybe the money is in one place, but your heart wants something else. Maybe logic is saying that you should be in a certain spot, but you can’t help but wonder what would happen if you moved elsewhere. When it comes down to it, we all should listen to our instincts when it comes to making moves in our personal lives and our careers. That gut instinct often will direct you in the right path. Thankfully, Lucy listened to hers!
