#MondayMotivation

All right, y’all…it’s Monday, and most of us are off for Columbus Day today. Yet and still, I wanted to drop some #MondayMotivation to get you through the rest of the week!

I’ve experienced this quote from both ends of the spectrum. I’ve gotten caught up in the high moments of my life, as well as replayed the bad moments over and over. Neither did me any good. Focusing on the past moments don’t help you progress; it just keeps you stuck either way.

There’s an analogy that some of you may have heard of: the windshield versus the rear view mirror. When you drive, you’ve got a big windshield on the front of your car, and you’ve got a tiny rearview mirror. The reason the windshield is so large and the rearview mirror is so small is because what’s happened in your past is not near as important as what’s in your future. When I heard this, it kind of shook me a little bit!

I’m a true believer in the idea that what’s ahead of you is greater than what’s behind you. However, if you keep reliving the past, good or bad, you can’t truly move forward to what’s ahead. Your focus has to be on what’s in front of you, and all of the things that you achieve and do in the future. Continue to learn and grow, and make new successes and experiences for yourself!
