Today’s inspirational jam, Kelly Clarkson‘s “Breakaway,” was my SONG back in the day. From her second album with the same title, and the Princess Diaries 2 soundtrack, this song (and the album) became a big hit for Kelly in the mid 2000s.
I remember being a teen listening to this song on repeat like Kelly was singing my life story. I didn’t know what I was going to be just yet, but, even at that age, I knew that I wanted more for my life than just something mundane. Maybe not be a singing superstar, but, whatever it was that I did, I wanted to be passionate about it. I wanted to breakaway from the norm. I wanted to LIVE, and not just exist. That’s what this song is all about. Taking chances and shooting your shot to reach your big dreams.
